Leah Vriesman is an expert in healthcare strategy, innovation, design-thinking, and the facilitation of board, physician and executive team retreats and meetings.
In Leah's role as an XCO Senior Partner, she brings deep expertise and proven experience drawn from her multi-faceted career as a professor, strategy leader, and internationally recognized keynote presenter. Since 2011, Leah has been the Executive Director of Executive Programs in Health Policy & Management in UCLA's Fielding School of Public Health, based in Los Angeles. She is a tenured professor and teaches on the topics of Strategic Management of Health Service Organizations and International Comparative Health Systems. She is active in Corporate Education for the UCLA's Anderson School of Management and is trained in ExperiencePoint simulations, further distinguishing her in leadership development, and as a change management and innovation expert. Additionally, she travels frequently to deliver keynote addresses to international audiences (in East Africa, Asia and Europe), frequently speaking on topics including digital technology, retail strategies, and consumer-centric healthcare. In June 2018, Leah was awarded Faculty of the Year by the National Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA).
As an XCO expert partner, in 2017 Leah supported the development of Intermountain Healthcare's Advanced Leadership Program. In both 2017 and 2018, she led one-day, intensive Innovation Workshops for 50 executive leaders at AMITA Health in Chicago. In 2019, she supported the design and facilitation for the Asante 2019 Board Retreat in Oregon. In 2020, she facilitated design and development of a Physician Governance Council for the Center for Global Health at Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
Personally, for 8 years Leah has served as a Board Director on the non-profit Angel Flight West, a volunteer-driven organization based in Santa Monica, California that arranges free, non-emergency air travel for children and adults with serious medical conditions and other compelling needs.
In 2016, Leah joined the Strategy Advantage team as an XCO Senior Partner. In this role, she is available as a 1:1 expert and consulting partner for leaders changing healthcare.
